CENTURY GARBAGE BILLING ISSUES — David Wayne
Century, FL (Newsradio 92.3) — There are issues with billing for the garbage service in Century — North-Escambia reports that nobody in town is being charged the correct rate. According to the Town Clerk customers have been paying anywhere from $ 12 dollars to $ 24 dollars…but nobody had been billed the correct rate of $25.34 cents. The billing issues came to light when the Town Council approved a 4.93-percent billing increase with garbage contractor Republic Services recently. Century had reportedly been paying the contractor their increased rates while charging customers less and losing revenue. Century town employees are working to correct the billing issues.
